10 Twitter Tips To Increase Your Blog’s Traffic

Twitter is an extremely powerful social networking platform and using it correctly can really boost traffic to your blog or website, increase your sales and promote your brand. Here are some of my twitter tips that I follow.

1. Post tweets at various times of the day as tweets will reach different audiences every time. Whereas with Facebook you may only want to send 1-2 posts each day as you will most likely be targeting the same audience.

2. Use images to grab peoples attention.

3. Add links so that people have more content to view.

4. Create twitter lists. Lists are created so that tweets from members of a list can be found in one place and be easily read.

5. Use hashtags so people who do not follow you are able to see your tweet if they are searching that particular hashtag.

6. Engage with your audience and reply to their tweets and questions.

7. See what is trending and tailor your tweets and content to what people are talking about.

8. Search for any people who are talking about a product or service that you sell. Reach out to them so they know that you exist.

9. Use platforms such as hootsuite to schedule your tweets.

10. Tweet often and do not go a few days without doing so.

Here are some more social media tips to increase traffic to your blog or website.

  1. These are all great tips. Especially using images. That has definitely helped me gain some followers. I do need to up my Twitter game, though. I don’t tweet as much as I should but that’s one of my goals for 2016!

  2. Great advice! I have been guilty of under utilizing twitter. This week will be when I sit down and really focus on understanding hootsuite so I can really take advantage of it.

  3. Awesome, thanks for the tips! My biggest problem with twitter is if you share a link or picture, your number of characters drops dramatically. It’s hard to fit a good post in with a picture and/or link and hash tags! Any suggestions on that? I just started a twitter mainly for my blog so I’m trying to built my twitter and it’s slow-going!

    • Hi Alyssa, I know what you mean but I usually attach the image first and then the link so I know how many characters I have left to use.

  4. Short and sweet. My favorite type of article. Sometimes, you just gotta wade through piles of text to get at what they’re really trying to say, and it’s so tiring… I just rambled oops. I guess I’m kind of a hypocrite in that way.

  5. Short and sweet! 🙂 I created my blog a year ago, and alongside I created FB, IG, and Twitter for it – but I gave up on using Twitter almost immediately. The profile still exists, but I’ve only used it a few times at the beginning. I don’t use Twitter privately, so it was completely new to me, and i had no idea how to get connected and make some use of it. With a new blog, i already had a lot to do with writing, networking on FB and IG, and Twitter kind of fell out of the picture. I might reconsider after reading your post! 🙂

    • Hi Nina, it can be a lot to handle if you are manually posting to various social media sites. I do find Twitter to be really helpful though so try it out again 🙂

    • Thank you! I will be writing similar blogging tips so do like and follow on my social media so you can have a read of them when I post 🙂

  6. Lists! I knew about the majority of the other tips (although this is a way more concise article!), however making lists is a biggie I totally forgot about! I’ll give this a shot ASAP. Thanks for the advice 🙂

    Happy 2016!

    Cheers 🙂
