Iceland- 3 Day Trip

Updated: Sep 25

I wanted to start a tradition with my mom and take her away on her birthday every year. So we headed to Iceland. Only 3 days from NYC to Reykjavic was only $150/pp RT. Seemed too good to be true and there were some great things and some not so great things about Iceland.

Go somewhere random

It was undeniably beautiful and I really wanted to go somewhere out of the normal Caribbean all inclusive vacation scene. Actually go on an adventure somewhere unknown to the both of us. Although the flights were cheap the accomodations were extremely expensive. I didn't do much research going in so it was a shock. Come to find out Iceland is one of the most expensive countries in the world. Literally a nail polish that is typically around $5 in the states was over $20!.

Things to Do

We stuck to the more tourist side of things which looking back I would probably rent a van and make road trip out of it. Blue Lagoon was only a short bus ride away from our hotel which was provided with the stay.

We stayed in 2 different hotels, one to be near the blue lagoon and the other one in the city center so we could walk around and explore by foot.
